Since June 2022, Connova Deutschland GmbH as part of the Connova Group has been a crucial partner in the NH3CRAFT project, dedicated to developing and manufacturing innovative composite tanks for ammonia storage. This initiative aims to establish safer, more efficient, and economically viable solutions for the transport and storage of ammonia on ships.
The NH3CRAFT project is part of a strategic effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 50% by 2050, in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement. The project focuses on a new design methodology that will enable the storage of 1,000 m³ of ammonia at a pressure of 10 bar, initially demonstrated on a vessel with a deadweight of 31,000 tons.
Connova Deutschland GmbH as part of the Connova Group expertise in composite materials is crucial for advancing these storage solutions, supporting the maritime industry’s transition to greener technologies, and enhancing Europe’s competitiveness in the global maritime sector. For more information about the project and updates, visit the NH3CRAFT homepage, read, or subscribe to the NH3CRAFT newsletter.
